3 teams today managed by Zelazny, Lopez and Wally. Bob Z's team hit well today but every ball was hit right to a defensive player. In spite of his bad luck, he managed to score 4 runs thru the 7 innings. This was the first time in quite a while to play the 7th innings due to heat. Temperature was great with a breeze. Sam and Wally battled it out with a score of 13-12 after 6 with Wally on top. The open inning belonged to Wally as the posted 7 runs and Sam's team could only muster 2 for a final of 20-14-4. I will note that J-Rod has made some fantastic plays at SS the last couple games. Deep in the hole and firing a rocket across to 1st base to get speedy runners and racing behind 3B to snag foul balls. Fun to watch.

Another 3 team game today in sweltering heat that again shortened it to 6 innings. Managers were Wally, Witmer and Zelazny. The Zelazny team didn't score until the fourth inning when they broke thru with one run when Tom Kniery crossed the plate line. Meanwhile Wally and Witmer battled to an 11-11 tie after 5 innings heading to the open inning. In the top, Wally plated 4 while both Witmer and Zelazny notched goose eggs for a final of 15-11-1. But it was fun.

American League update 8/1/24
The Winter Haven travel team teamed up with the Kissimmee team to take on Solivita in two intense games. The first game was an absolute nail-biter, with both teams going head to head. Winter Haven took the victory with a final score of 24-14, thanks to some incredible performances, including two home runs from Mike Vaccaro, two from Frank of Kissimmee, and a home run from Rob Milron.
In the second game, the excitement continued to build as the score was tied 10-10 at the fifth inning. Winter Haven seemed poised for victory after adding five more runs, but at the top of the seventh, Solivita unleashed an amazing comeback, scoring ten runs and securing a 20-17 win. It was an exhilarating match with outstanding home runs from Lou Guzman and Rob Milron.
These games were just a taste of the thrilling matchups to come. Stay tuned for more action in September!
