TERRY FEEHAN
For those of us that knew Terry, you knew that he had a love for senior softball. Terry played for many years at Winter Haven Senior Softball. He played softball into his 80's and when he couldn't play anymore, he enjoyed coming to the ballpark to watch us. Terry was 93 when he passed away on February 28, 2023. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time.

ALL STAR GAME - FRIDAY, MARCH 31ST - DIAMONDPLEX - FIELD B
At the end of the Tournament season on Tuesday February 21st, the team managers were tasked with selecting 4 players from each team to play in an All-Star game when we come back to Winter Haven on Friday, March 31st. What a tough job that was knowing that there were a lot of players that could be on that team, but they were limited to only 4 players. The managers made their selections, and the teams are listed below. Robert Spitaleri and Wally Wallace volunteered to manage the teams. If you are listed below and have had a change in your ability to play in the All-Star game, please let me know and we will find someone who is available on that date. For those of you that are not participating in the All-Star game, we will be playing ball as usual on the other fields. A signup sheet will be available at the pavilion between Fields A and B. Be there no later than 9:00 AM. Games will begin at 9:30 AM.

Hey everyone, I want to give a great big THANK YOU for all the softball players from Winter Haven and Lakeland that showed up at the Hall of Fame banquet last night. The food was good, plentiful and everyone had a good time. It is important that we support the Hall of Fame so this tradition can continue for many years to come.
Thanks again.

A very high scoring game today on a rough, sandy infield. Many untrue hops. The 12 man teams were managed by Don Ouding and Wally Wallace. Don and Wally for the rest of this write up. There were only 3 goose eggs 🥚 in the entire game and 2 of those were in the 1st 2 innings by Don's team while Wally was putting up nickles. So, 10-0 after 2 innings. BUT Don's guys put on their hitting shoes and tied it at 10 in the top of 3. Then the scoring just kept coming and there was only one inning when only 1 run was scored and one other with 0 scored.

Today, the American League visited Solivita to take on their Red, White and Blue team, looking to avenge their loss from the last time they were there. Wearing their Gold shirts, Tommy Hamilton made his pitching debut for the game. The American League started off strong, scoring five runs in the first inning. However, Solivita kept up the pace, matching the American League's score with five runs of their own in the first inning and continuing to score in each inning after that. The game was tied 14-14 in the top of the seventh, but Jeff Stier led off with a double and eventually got knocked in, giving the American League a 15-14 lead. Solivita had the top of the lineup coming to bat, but the American League was able to hold them off and win the game 15-14.
