Don't forget Friday August 17th is the summer party/picnic after the game. Snowbirds don't get to enjoy this one. They only get the big ones in January, February and March. We hope all players who are able to attend even if you are injured and can't play
will attend as several of our many sponsors will be in attendance to meet players and family. One new sponsor THE OASIS SPA is going to be there and offering short chair massages. Wouldn't that feel good on our 70 year old body after a ball game?
Now. On to the game today. Batterys were Morton/Fabian vs Wells/Merritt. Visitors, Morton were up 5-3 after 4 innings. Then the skies opened up for a while but we decided to play on to make it a final game. The visitors put up a nickel in the top during
a light sprinkle to make it 10-3. Home team came up for the bottom and couldn't push any runs over.
THEN THE SKIES REALLY OPENED UP AND EVERYONE RAN FOR COVER and the game was over 10-3. I had the pleasure of giving Robert Spitaleri and his bike a ride home. Also had the pleasure of meeting his lovely wife Linda.
Our mascot and my best friend Brandi (sorry Ralph) looked like a drowned rat.
See y'all Tuesday.

Other things going on include a summer party/picnic to be held Friday August 10 after the game. Picnic lunches from Publix will be provided and you will have an opportunity to meet many of our sponsors. Our sponsors will be at the game before and after
to mingle with players and family.
Please make this game and support our sponsors.

The Solivita seniors arrived at the Diamondplex and played 2 very hard fought and well played games against Winter Haven Senior Softball. Winter Haven snapped a 7 game losing streak to the Solivita boys by sweeping the doubleheader. First game WH trailed 12-10
entering the bottom of the open inning. Jose Rivera led off with a double but then there was 2 quick fly balls to get to the top of the order. With Jose camped on third, Rad promptly singled him home and that was followed by 3 more base hits and a walk to
tie the game. Lou Guzman stepped to the plate and smacked a hard walk off single to center field for a final of 13-12. The catch of the game was by the Solivita LCF who I'm not sure who it was but when they read this I'm sure they will identify who it was.
It was a fantastic running backhanded grab going hard to the fence.
The second game WH took by a score of 14-8 thanks to 2 five run innings. Billy Young led off the bottom of the open inning with a solid single to get to the top of the order and all were sensing a comeback but a fly out to center got the first out. Then
Alex singled and the power hitters were coming up. WH boys were starting to worry but 2 long fly balls to center and right ended the threat.
Solivita hitters. Ed 5-8. Keith 3-8. Chris 3-7. Ken 4-7. Bo 2-5 w/2BB. Tom 3-6 w/SF. Cisco 3-6. Alex 5-8. Charlie 4-6.
WH hitters. Rad 5-8. Eddie H. 4-8. Doerbaum 5-8. Shirer 5-7. Guzman 4-6. Matta 4-6. Book 2-6. Laffoon 3-6. Guttenberger 2-6. Rivera 2-6. Witmer 2-6. Crowell 2-6.
Again, very well played games and thank all players and spectators for buying drinks and candy from Rachel Matta to help the 10-Under girls fast pitch team. And Rachel, thanks for dog sitting our mascot Brandi.
I'm going to visit my son and family for a couple weeks. See y'all then.
