September 30th Games

We had enough players for two games today. With the snowbirds coming back, I would anticipate at least four teams going forward. Having said that, it is imperative that you either sign in or call before 08:30 in order for us to make four equally matched teams. The late arrival of one or two players can mean the difference of  three or four teams, or throw the team balance off in favor of one of the teams.

Before getting off my soapbox let me remind everyone that the draft is upcoming so you need to sign up if you haven't. We need to know how many teams will make up the league as well as identifying franchise players before the draft.

Team Hill took on Team Rounds on Field A. Both teams managed to score eight runs in the first two innings. From there on, Team Rounds slowly built up a ten run lead by the eighth inning. They did this by scoring in every inning. Down by ten, Team Hill managed a scant two runs in the ninth. That was insufficient to overcome the ten run deficit  so Team Rounds did not have to bat in the ninth. Final score Team Rounds 27, Team Hill 19.

Team JD and Team Pepin squared off against each other one more time on Field B. It looked like a disaster for Team Pepin as they couldn't stop JD's bats. They scored five runs in each of the first three innings to build an eight run lead. The fourth inning saw the game tied as Team Pepin scored seven runs with no outs.Team Pepin outscored Team JD over the last two innings to secure a 25 to 24 victory.
