Friday Game

We had a great three team game with 14 players per team. Again, big shout out to Don Ouding, Sam Lopez, and Wally for managing this morning. Don was the hitting team and jumped out to an early lead by scoring five quick runs. Unfortunately they were one and done, managing only two more runs the rest of the way. Wally's sitting team didn't score until the third inning but then scored eight in the 4th and five in the 5th to take the lead. Sam's guys put up 11 runs in the first three innings but couldn't score again until the 9th. Trailing by six, they managed to score three runs making it close at the end. Fiinal score Team Wally 17, Team Lopez 14, and Team Ouding 7.

Travel Team Update.

Thursday, April 23, 2026

It was another beautiful day for softball at Solivita, and the American League Travel Team made the most of it.

Game One:

The bats were alive early as the team came out swinging, launching an impressive seven home runs. Along with the power at the plate, the defense held strong and made key plays throughout the game. It was a complete team effort, and the squad cruised to a solid 22–16 victory.

Game Two:

However, game two was a different story. The offense seemed to run out of gas, managing just two home runs and a total of thirteen runs. Meanwhile, the Solivita team’s bats came alive, putting together a strong offensive showing and scoring twenty-six runs. The final score was 26–13, giving Solivita a well-earned win.

We look forward to next-week as we will return for another battle.

American League – Tuesday, April 21, 2026

Another beautiful day for softball as members of the American League were able to cobble together teams, with help from a few National League players. The teams met on Field “C” ready for battle.

Team JD took the field while Team Lou stepped up to bat. Both teams came out strong, each putting up two runs in the first inning. From there, it turned into a nail-biter, with neither side giving an inch.

Heading into the top of the seventh inning, the score was tied 14–14. That’s when Team Lou made their move, rallying for four runs to take an 18–14 lead.

Team JD had one last chance to walk it off, but Lou’s squad held firm on defense and shut the door.

Final Score: Team Lou 18, Team JD 14

Tuesday's Game

Before getting into the game, let me just say it was great to see Loren back at the park. He assures me he will be behind the plate for the next game. l also want to thank today's managers: Steve Hill, Ron Pepin, and Don Ouding.

The wind definitely played a huge role in today's game.I do not think any ball went beyond the orange line on a fly. I cannot remember a game this close through six innings. At no point was the separation between the first and last place teams more than three runs. Through five, only two separated the teams. Ron's guys took a one-run lead in the second inning and held it through the fourth when Steve Hill's guys over took them. As I stated, only three runs separated the teams going into the ninth. The bats came alive for Steve in the ninth inning, as they brought 13 batters to the plate and scored eight runs. Don's guys managed to score one, falling well short of Steve's total. That left Ron's team needing 11 runs to win, but they only needed three to take home the silver medal. Unfortunately they went three and out. The final score was Team Hill 17, Team Ouding 8, and Team Pepin 6.

American League Update – April 17, 2026

Today, the American League took the field on Field “C.” With the help of a few National League players, we were able to put together a great matchup between Team JD and Team Jeff.

Both teams came out swinging, each putting up five runs in the first inning. In the second, JD’s crew added another five while holding Jeff’s team scoreless, taking early control of the game. At that point, JD looked well on his way to a comfortable victory.

But Jeff’s team had other plans.

They battled back throughout the game and eventually took the lead in the seventh inning, going up 17–15. Heading into the bottom of the seventh, JD’s squad needed something special.

That’s exactly what they got.

Rad Pcholinski led off with an inside-the-park home run to spark the rally. Don Fee followed by getting on base, setting the stage for Jeff Stier—who delivered in dramatic fashion with a walk-off inside-the-park home run to seal the win. Final score 17-18.

Notable Hit: Lonnie Netzel also had an inside-the-park home run.

Friday Games

National League had three teams today. With only eleven players per team, you can imagine many runs being scored, and you would be correct. I am trying to remember the exact scoring because the numbers changed between every inning and one team failed to keep the score sheet in the last inning. Additionally, we lost an inning somewhere along the way as we were playing in the fifth and after discussion behind the plate we were somehow playing in the seventh. I can tell you Team Wally scored 33 runs followed by Team Toro with what I believe was 19. Team Dampier brought up the rear with what I believe was 9 runs. Confusing  I know, but no more so than for those of us playing.

More important than the outcome was the fact that Loren came out to assure us of his successful surgery.In all the time he has umpired, he has never lost an inning. Get well soon.

American League Update – Tuesday, April 14, 2026

It was a beautiful day for softball as members of the National League joined forces with the American League on Field “A.” The matchup between Team JD and Team Dana got off to a wild start, with both teams scoring 5 runs each early on.

After the opening inning, Team Dana began to pull ahead, building a solid lead. By the 4th inning, Dana’s team was leading 17-12. Team JD fought valiantly, keeping the game competitive, but in the end, Team Dana held on to win 17-15.

A great battle and a perfect day for softball!

Tuesday Game Summary

Today was one for the record books. After providing ten players to the American League, we still managed to play a three team game on Field B. Today's managers were Don Ouding, Wally, and Steve Hill. With Loren recovering from back surgery, the man behind the plate became the men behind the plate, as we relied on the sitting team to provide someone to call balls and strikes. I think everyone would agree that we missed Loren..

So what about the records shattered today? First is total runs scored in a five-inning game..67.Second was the time it took to complete five innings of play: 2 hours and 17 minutes. I am sure you noticed that we completed two less innings than we would normally play. That is because the consensus was that we had played long enough, scored enough runs, and had too many people that had appointments.

At the end of the first inning the scores were 4,5,5. After two inning the scores were 9,8,10 It remained close after three innings 14,10,15. Each team scored two runs in the fourth inning (the lowest score for any inning). It was at this point that the managers elected to shorten the game. Don's team scored five runs in the fifth inning to retake the lead. That lead was short-lived as Steve's team scored 12 runs and ended up going from last to first. Wally tried to motivate his team as they chased nine runs. The first two batters got on base and scored and it looked like if they couldn't over take Steve, they could catch Don. Unfortunately for them they then went three and out. Final score: Team Hill 26, Team Ouding 21, and Team Wally 19.

American League Updat

 

Friday, 4/3/26

Players from the National League teamed up with the American League on field “A”. Team JD vs Team Mike. It was a back-and-forth game all the way to the last inning when Team Mike took a five-run lead, and  JD team could not close the deal.

Friday 4/10/26

Back again on field “A” with members from the National League. Team JD started slow with just two runs. Team Lou started with four runs. This was the only lead of the game as the JD crew just kept scoring. After a flip-flop, Team Lou could only muster up eight runs. Final score was JD 31 and Lou 24.

Special note: Jeff Rebideau scored a home run in the park.

Friday Game Summary

We managed to have a game in both leagues today thanks to some of the National League superstars moving over to complement the American League roster.. We don't have a write-up from that game but here is the write up of a very interesting three team game on Field B. Before we get into the game I want to acknowledge the three three managers..Mark Tutrani, Dave Rounds, and Wally as well as Loren who calls balls and strikes every game. The games don't work without their volunteering.

Wally managed and pitched  for the hitting team. and had them fired up. They scored five runs in each of the first two innings giving them a lead that was not threatened until the last inning. They also played very good defense, holding Dave's team to only eight runs through the eighth inning.

Dave's team trailed after six innings but saved their best for the final inning, scoring five runs. What was really impressive for Dave's team was the defense and pitching. Behind Bobby Ayers' pitching and a very solid defense, they managed to hold Mark's team scoreless through the first six innings. This was no easy feat as Mark's team was very strong.

Despite not scoring until the seventh inning, Mark's team never gave up and battled the entire game.  They finally got the bats working in the seventh inning, as eight batters came to the plate before the  last out. Along the way, they managed to get four of them across the plate.

Final score: Team Wally 16, Team Rounds 13, and Team Tutrani 4.
