Two of our better managers faced off on Field B. Fred Deloach led the visiting team while Dave Rounds led the home team. Fred's team got off to a slow start failing to score in the first four innings. Meanwhile, Dave's guys put up eleven runs. I have to say that it looked pretty bleak for Fred and his boys I don't know what Fred used for motivation, but the bats came alive, as did the defense. And they outscored Dave's group twenty to six in the last four innings. The final score was Team DeLoach 20 and Team Rounds 16.

Team Wally faced Team Hill on Field C. With these two managers you would expect it to be an exciting game, and it didn't disappoint. Both teams scored three runs in the first inning, and the score remained tied after four innings. Team Hill then proceeded to build a four run lead going into the eighth inning. Not to counted out, Wally's team scored four runs in the eighth inning and shut down Steve's batters resulting in a tie game after eight innings. In the ninth inning Wally's first four batters scored and with two out and the bases loaded Donna (playing outfield) caught the long fly for the third out. Needing four runs to tie and five to win, Ron Thompson lead off and started a game winning rally as the first five batters scored. Final score Team Hill 25 and Team Wally 24.
