Some games start with a bang, and others take a little time to get rolling! In Game 2, Somewhere Sports Bar, managed by Wally, and Stewart Auto, led by Ayers, both started slowly before the bats came alive. Stewart Auto eventually found its rhythm and secured a 23–16 victory.
Early Innings: A Slow Start
Neither team could get much going in the first two innings, with just a couple of scattered hits and no runs on the board.
That changed in the third when Somewhere Sports Bar's bottom of the lineup sparked a rally. King, Testa, Regan, Ramon, and Deloach delivered hits, bringing home four runs.
Stewart Auto answered with a rally of its own. Donna, Parry, Lopicollo, Jamie, and Rad singled before Jorge doubled, and five runs crossed the plate.
Middle Innings: The Long Ball Arrives!
Stewart Auto started building momentum in the fifth. Terry launched a home run, followed by singles from Shaffer, Fleming, and Ayers. Donna and Parry also reached base as three more runs scored.
Then Jamie added another home run, helping fuel a five-run inning as Stewart Auto continued to put pressure on the defense.
Somewhere Sports Bar finally answered in the sixth. Testa, Regan, and Ramon doubled, followed by singles from Deloach and Vandenberg and another double by Toro. The rally brought home five runs and got Wally's team back in the game!
Late Innings: Stewart Auto Keeps Rolling
Stewart Auto responded with five runs in the sixth, stringing together hits from Zelazny, Shaffer, Fleming, Donna, Parry, and Lopicollo.
The offense stayed hot in the eighth as Gilbert singled, Jamie doubled, and several teammates followed with base hits to bring home five more runs.
Somewhere Sports Bar needed a big final inning, but Stewart Auto added three more runs in the ninth behind hits from Ayers, Donna, Lopicollo, and Gilbert.
Final Score: Stewart Auto 23, Somewhere Sports Bar 16
After a quiet start, both teams found their offensive groove, but Stewart Auto's two home runs and consistent scoring proved too much to overcome.
Congratulations to Stewart Auto on the win, and hats off to Somewhere Sports Bar for battling back with a five-run sixth inning!
