Our wood bat season at Sertoma Park got off to a great start with 48 ball players coming out to play. It was a little hectic in the beginning due to late arrivals, interpretation of the rules, and some missing administrative equipment but once the players hit the field, all that is forgotten.
Team Lopez squared off against Team Tutrani in a relatively low scoring game. It is amazing the difference the bats can make. There were rumors that some of the outfielders actually got to take naps while in the outfield. Team Lopez managed three runs over the nine innings. Team Tutrani took the lead in the first and did not look back as they managed a whopping eight runs . Final score Team Tutrani 8 and Team Lopez 3.

Team Toro faced Team Deloach on the other field. After falling behind in the first Team Toro took the lead in the third. It was short lived as Team DeLoach regained the lead the next inning and never looked back as they managed to hold on to a narrow lead. It helped that Toro's bats were silent in the final three innings. The final score Team DeLoach 10 and Team Toro 6.
