Winter Haven Senior Softball

A beautiful day in Yankee Stadium -Diamondplex - Winterhaven , Florida.
The Bronx Bombers got off to a fast start , taking a 5-1 lead after the opening stanza .
A homer by Alumbaugh , followed by hits from Book-Guzman-Jacobson-Bancroft , left the “KFC-Colonel”,  lickin’ his drumstick !  Manager , J.D. had to go back to the kitchen to find his “secret sauce” & his band of chef’s , responded, with a recipe,  that produced 5 runs in the second inning , to take a 6-5 lead.  Pcholinski-Ogden-Reagen-Essenmacher-Wells were giving “finger-lickin-good” plate appearances .  Back and forth it went , in the 3rd & 4th innings - with the Yankees scoring 6 runs , and KFC scoring 5 runs , notting the score at 11-11.
Book-Guttenberger-Carpenter-Toro-DeRidder & Pcholinski-Quinones-Butler-Coffman-Wells , were supplying the offensive fireworks .  KFC could only manage 1 run the next four innings , while the Yankee bats exploded for 5 runs in the bottom of the eighth , to take a commanding 17-12 lead .   Doubles by Alumbaugh-Book-Debroeck topped off the ining.  KFC scored 2 runs in the top of the ninth inning , but it was not enough , as the Yankees , walked off with a hard fought 17-14 victory.
