Today was draft day so we were told we had to be off the field by 11:00. Much to my surprise, we managed to complete both games in the hour and a half. It shows you it can be done if folks hustle on and off the field and don't argue every close call.
Team Rounds and Team Toro played on field B. Team Rounds built a six run lead going into the fourth inning on some solid hitting and good defense. In the fourth however, Team Toro charged back with four runs anchored by a triple by Jim Williamson to pull within three. In the fifth ,both teams were held scoreless. In the sixth, JR led off with a triple and scored the first of their five runs to take the lead. Team Rounds was held scoreless in the last two frames to come up on the short end. Final score Team Toro 11 and Team Rounds 09.

Team JD and Team Tutrani faced off on field C in another very close game that was not decided until the last out. For the first five innings Team JD looked like they couldn't and wouldn't be stopped. They built a nine run lead as the top off the line up seemed to score at will. The bats were cold in the sixth and went four and out, opening the door for Team Tutrani. They didn't let the opportunity pass as they batted around and scored eight runs. With a slim one run lead, Team
JD looked to pad their lead, which they did. Trailing by four, Team Tutrani needed four to tie and five to win. Alas, they failed to score a single run. Final score Team JD 17 and Team Tutrani 13.
