Friday 29 August

Robert Spitalari, Dave Rounds, and Steve Hill stepped up to manage today's teams. Team Spitalari started out the game with three runs in the first inning Both Team Hill and Team Rounds managed one run apiece. The next two innings saw Team Spitalari shut out, while Team Hill scored five runs to take the lead with Team Rounds right behind with five runs. Team Rounds held the lead through the sixth as both Team Hill and Rounds separated themselves from Team Spitalari. Their leads continued to grow over Team Spialari  through the sixth inning with Team Rounds at 15 and Team Hill 14. It all came down to the last inning. Team Spitalari's first two batters went out,  but then the bats woke up and they managed to score six runs with two outs. Team Hill scored  5 runs in the sixth to take a 4 run lead going into the bottom of the seventh. With Team Hill in the field trying to protect their slim lead it promised to be an exciting finish..It was not a disappointment, Team Rounds scored two runs before some great defense shut them down. Final Score Team Hill 19-Team Rounds 17- Team Spitalari 11.

**Message from Acting Commissioner Luis Guzmán**

I would like to take a moment to express our gratitude to our sponsors, whose financial support is vital to the operation of our league. I encourage each of you to consider utilizing their services whenever possible, as a way to show our appreciation for their contributions.

Here are a few personal examples of how our sponsors have provided exceptional service:

When I needed electrical work, I reached out to Kincaid Electrical, and they delivered outstanding service. For window tinting, I chose Stewart Auto Repair, a vendor highly recommended by our community. I encountered an issue with my air conditioning and contacted Ridge Energy. They not only resolved the problem but also informed me that I had 15 days remaining on my warranty, saving me $900. I also relied on Ridge Energy for assistance with my Generac Generator. For the installation of a sediment filter, I turned to one of our new sponsors, Cypress Plumbing. Additionally, I had new golf cart batteries replaced by Art’s Carts. Many of our players enjoy dining and socializing at local establishments such as Somewhere Sports Bar, 1st Diner, Big Tom’s Diner, Glory Days, and Duke's Brewhouse. These venues offer great food and a fun atmosphere.

I would also like to acknowledge the many players who are members of the American Legion, Post #8. Thank you for your service. Several members, including myself, have purchased vehicles from Jarrett Gordon Lincoln / Ford, and we have consistently received excellent service.

All of our sponsors are committed to providing high-quality products and services. I hope that we can all support them and express our gratitude for their sponsorship, as they play a crucial role in keeping our Club strong.

Thank you for your attention and support.

Friday 22 August Games

We managed to beat the rain today but not by much. I ended up driving home in the liquid sunshine. Let's start by thanking today's managers.. Steve Hill, Robert Spitalari, and Mark Trutrani..

The outcome of today's game was never really in doubt as Team Trutrani opened up with five runs in the first inning and never looked back. They continued to put up numbers in every inning but one. During that run, they put up 5 runs in 3 of the six i innings. Team Spitalari struggled at the plate most of the day but I attributed it mostly to outstanding defense by Team Trutrani. Team Spitalari went scoreless in four of the seven innings and only managed to put up five for the whole game. Team Hill managed to score in five of the seven innings but never really challenged Team Trutrani.Their largest production came in the last inning when they managed to score four runs. It wasn't enough as the final score ended with  Team Trutrani 19, Team Hill 12, and Team Spitalari 5..

Outstanding Performers
Rad 3-3 w/double
Lynch 3-3 w/ double, triple
Ernesto 3-4

Tuesday 19 August

Before I get to today's game let me address  the complaints about  having 14 players per team and not playing on two fields. We ask everyone to sign in or call before 08:30 for a reason. We start making teams up at 08:30 based on those players that have signed in. We start at that time to have sufficient time for the managers to make up the line ups and be ready to play by 09:00. This morning, after the teams had been finalized we had three players come in and sign in to play, the last at 08:45.That is too late to redo the teams so they are add ons to the roster. Sometimes this results in bloated lineups, or franchise players being inserted into evenly balanced teams. To help us, we ask that you please sign or call in before the 08:30 deadline.

Today's game turned out to be very competitive. with only six runs separating the three teams.Want to thank Steve Hill, Mark Trutrani, and Dave Rounds for stepping up and managing today's teams.

Team Hill started out, as they normally do by knocking the cover off the ball. They quickly scored five runs to take the lead. Their bats were silent until the 6th inning when they put up five more runs, bringing their total to 11 and getting back in the game

Team Trutrani started slow but scored multiple runs in the third and fourth innings to take the lead. Unfortunately they only managed one more run in  the next two innings, putting them at the bottom with one to go

Team Rounds started slow but built momentum throughout the game and took the lead in the fourth inning and extended it into the seventh. They scored a total of fourteen runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth nnings..

It was anyone's game going into the seventh inning. Team Hill was not able to mount a charge as they went four and out. Team Trutrani didn't fare much better as they too were unable to score. Team Rounds did not have to bat in the seventh as neither of the other teams could match their score. Final Team Rounds 15, Team Hill 11, and Team Trutrani 9.

OUtstanding Performances
JD Davis 3-3
Mike Rodriquez 3-3
Pete Guentenberg 3-3 w/ triple and double

Friday 15 August

Before getting into the game I want to thank Steve Hill, Dave Rounds, and Fred DeLoach for stepping up and doing a great job today managing the teams. Team Hill got out to an early start and scored 12 runs in the first three innings. Their offensive production brought out the whispers of a stacked team. Those whispers went away rather quickly as they.only managed one run the rest of the way.
Team DeLoach was the most consistent team today. They played extremely well on both offense and defense. They scored multiple runs in five of the early  innings. They took the lead in the fifth and extended their lead in the six th.Defensively, they went up against Team Rounds and held them scoreless in four of the seven innings. All in all a great overall performance.
Team Rounds had  early success as they put up 8 runs in the first three innings. They bats went cold over the next four innings as they only managed to put one more run up on the board. The final score was Team DeLoach 17, Team Hill 13, and Team Rounds 9.

As always it is great to see our teammates on the injured reserve stop by. Today we saw Gary Anderson and Wally Wallace.

Tuesday 12 August

Due to heavy rains Monday evening, we were limited to one field today. It worked out well as we had 39 players sign in, and so we were able to field three teams of 13 players each. Steve Hill, Fred DeLoach, and JD Davis stepped up to manage the different teams. Team Hill managed four runs to start off the game and added five in the third to take a sizable lead going into the fourth. Unfortunately for them their bats went cold and only managed one more run through the end of the game.Team Deloach never got going on offense. They made some great defensive plays but they were never able to mount a good rally.in any inning. JD's team tallied five in the first before going cold for three innings. The fifth and sixth innings were a different story as they. not only took the lead, it was substantial enough that they did not have to bat in the seventh. Final score JD 14-Hill 10-Deloach 5.

Friday , August 1st

With the Florida Half Century Tournament this weekend, our numbers for today were down slightly. We did manage to put together three teams of twelve.. Robbie Moots, Fred Deloach, and Steve Hill volunteered to manage. The game started out with Team Hill putting up five quick runs.Team Moots scored  one, and Team DeLoach was shut out. Team Hills bats were as hot as the temperature as they scored five runs in two of the next three innings.Team Moots scored five during the same period while Team Deloach put up six, all in one inning. With the heat index over 111 degrees, the decision was made to just play five. After the cheering died down, team Deloach took the field to shut down Team Hill.In the opening inning, Deloach's team held Team Hill to 2 runs giving them a total of 12. Team Moots quickly made a game of it as 5 of their first six batters crossed the plate. The next three batters reached base as well. Unfortunately the next two batters made outs leaving the bases loaded and a total of 13 runs. That just left Team Deloach with a chance to win. While not scoring enough to win, they managed to put up four runs bringing their total to 10. Final score Team Hill 17, Team Moots 13, and Team DeLOach 10.
