5 December Games

Today on field B Team Rounds faced off against Team JD in what turned out to be a very interesting game to say the least..The first four innings saw each team score 18 runs. That is  a toal 36 in the four innings. Amazing. The bats were popping. for both teams. Then came the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings. Team Rounds were shut out over the next three innings, with only one runner managing to reach second base. While at the same time, Team JD managed but one measly run. That measly run proved to be the winning run. Final score Team JD 19 and Team Rounds 18.

Outstanding Pwrformances
Rounds 4-4
Zelazny 4-4
Rutan  4-4
Reagan 3-3
Pablo 4-4 w/triple

Team Hill took on Team Keller in what ended up a very lopsided game on field C. Team Hill scored in every inning, scoring  five in three of them. Team Keller, on the other hand, never seemed to get on track, falling behind by eleven runs after just three innings. Their best inning was the sixth when they scored three runs and had the bases loaded. Unfortunately, the inning ended on a strikeout.
The final score was Team Hill 24 and Team Keller 8.

Tuesday 2 December Game

After sending  a number of players over to play with the American league, we had enough to field three thirteen man teams on Field B. Today's managers were Steve Hill, Dave Rounds, and Mark Tutrani. The conspiracy theorists were out in force after the first two innings, as Stevs Team opened up a big lead by scoring five runs in each of the first two innings. One inning later it was like a Joy Reid Podcast, with the conspiracy theory totally falling apart as Team Tutrani but up some impressive numbers in the last six innings putting up 5-3-5-5-4-4 to build an insurmountable lead.
The real game came down to a very evenly matched teams.Team Hill maintained a comfortable lead over Team Rounds until the fifth inning, when Dave's guys put up four runs to tie the game. With Team Tutrani up by nine over his two rivals, they extended their lead further by scoring four in the top of the seventh. Both Team Hill and Team rounds found themselves chasing 13 runs. Four of the first five batters for Team Hill scored before three fly balls sent them to the field. Bottom line for Team Rounds was that they needed six to take home the silver and 14 to claim the gold. Alsa it was not meant to be. They did manage two runs before the game ended on a hard hit double play. Final score Team Tutrani 26, Team Hill 18, and Team Round 15.

Thanksgiving Message

As we approach Thanksgiving, we are reminded of how blessed we truly are to be able to play the great game of softball. The friendly competition keeps us going year-round and brings us together as a community.

Please remember those who may not have much during this season and could use our prayers, support, and kindness.

We will be playing on Friday, so don’t stuff yourself toomuch—but definitely enjoy your time with family and friends.

God bless,

Lou Guzman, AC

Games 21 November

Before writing up the games let me wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. We are so blessed here and we need to  take a little time to reflect on God's blessings and the many joys in your life.

Team DeLoach took on Team Hill in a very interesting game on field B.  Team  DeLoach won the first inning, but only by one. Team Hill returned the favor the next inning and tied the game. For the next three innings, Team Hill pulled away to build a six run lead. Of course in the bottom of the sixth, Team DeLoach pushed across six runs to tie it up. The seventh and eighth innings saw Team Hill again regain the lead, this time by five. In the ninth Team Hill scored eight runs before they made an out and ended up with nine. Team DeLoach went three and out to end the game. Final scoreTeam Hill 30, Team DeLoach 16.

Team Wally only had two multiple run innings in the entire game. After eight innings Team Vandenberg was sitting on a nine run lead. While not quite the required ten run rule to do a flip flop, both teams agreed to flip. Did did bring the game to an earlier than expected end as Team Wally went three and out. Final score Team Vandenberg 20 and Team Wally 11.

In the first game, the competition was intense, with both teams exchanging leads until the final inning. Our team secured the victory by scoring seven runs in the seventh inning, finishing with a 20-12 win.

The second game presented a different challenge. By the bottom of the fourth inning, Solivita held a 10-7 lead and extended it by scoring four and then five additional runs, ultimately winning 19-12.

Tuesday 18 November Games

Well, we were one field away from having three two team games. Staff will be ready for Friday to ensure that we have access to three fields. It is nice to see our players starting to return.
.
Field B
The three team game was on field b today. Steve Hill managed the hitting team, Don Keller managed the sitting team, and Wally led the fielding team.Team Keller jumped out to a quick lead after the first inning and looked strong thru three. The fourth saw Team Hill and Team put up big numbers which resulted in a 11-10-10 score. Both the hitting team and fielding continued to put up big numbers as team Keller fell back. Team Keller won the sixth inning and so going into the seventh Team Hill had 14, Team Keller 15, and Team Wally 18. In the seventh Team Hill's scored five runs to reach 19 to take the lead. Team Keller secured last place by only managing one run. It was then up to Team Wally as they needed one run to tie and two to win. Without dragging it out, they did that just. They put up two runs to claim the victory. Final score Team Hill 19, Team Keller 16, and Team Wally 20.
Outstanding performances
Gil 4-4

Team Lopez faced off against Team JD on field C. Both teams put up five in the first and it looked like it would be a slugfest. Unfortunately for JD, Team Lopez scored another five in the second take the lead and they held onto the lead  throughout the game. Team JD had a couple great innings scoring eight in the fourth and four in the sixth. to close within one.run. The open inning saw Team Lopez regain their momentum and put across six runs in their half of the seventh to take a seven run lead. Team JD managed two runs before the defense stopped them. Friday 14 November Games

Team DeLoach and Team Tutrani faced off on field C. Both teams scored two runs in the first and remained tired after the third. Team Tutrani built a five run lead over the next three innings but it would not hold up.They were outscored in the next two innings, knotting the score at 14 apiece. Jim Williamson  led off and scored for team Deloach in the ninth, but that was it, as they were unable to put anymore runs on the board. So trailing by one, Team Tutrani stepped up to the challenge and scored two quick runs as the first four batters all got hits. Final score Team Tutrani 16 and Team DeLoach 15.
Outstanding performances
Gutenburger 5-5
Truchetta 4-5
Johnston 5-5
Tutrani 4-5
Miguel 4-4
Nestor 4-5
Stier 4-5
Anderson 4-5

Team Hill met Team JD on field B. It was an interesting game to say the least. Team Hill started out as gangbusters building a ten run lead going into the bottom of the sixth inning. Players were already talking about a flip flop and going home early. Then Team JD came up to bat and scored ten runs to tie up the game. I think that inning broke Team Hill's spirits as they were outscored in the seventh and eighth and found themselves chasing seven going ino the last frame. It was over before it began as they went three and out. Fianl score Team JD 25 and Team Hill.18.
